Current leading solutions in student retention technology rely solely on institutional data (GPA, test scores, credit completion, etc.), which provides a limited view of the student experience.

As a team of recent university graduates, we know that overall student well-being is way more complicated than just measuring grades, majors and test scores.

Instead of guessing how students are feeling based on numbers, that may or may not reflect their well-being, we ask them directly.

MEET STELLA

Stella is a friendly chatbot integrated directly into your virtual learning environment, such as Blackboard and Canvas. Students anonymously interact with Stella on a daily basis to gauge their overall well-being.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

We use a research-based method to measure psychosocial factors (PSFs) in students. This allows us to predict drop-out risks and identify areas in which universities and colleges should focus in order to assist their students most effectively.

Our medium is the interactive chatbot. The chatbot asks the students a few questions on a weekly basis to get an understanding of how the students are doing. All of the questions asked are based on the latest research in student well-being and is presented to the students in an easy to use, gamified format.

The student sentiment data is measured by the PSFs which consist of three different categories:

DATA PRIVACY

GydEd ensures that your institution remains compliant with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), by making sure that the data is completely de-identified and not Personally identifiable information (PII) as stipulated by the U.S. Department of Education.
